Digital Astromythos: Book One for international backers
over 3 years ago – Tue, Aug 11, 2020 at 09:12:26 PM

We know that international shipping is crazy-expensive. We can't do anything about the rates we are charged, but we can offer a reward level that helps remove some of the shipping cost pain!

For international backers only, we have added a new reward that allows you to pledge for a pdf digital version of the book. This is only available on its own and cannot be combined with any add-ons (which would ruin the whole notion of not paying shipping fees).

Thank you to everyone who believed in me and my dream of sharing Astromythos with the world. This has been a dream of mine for twenty years, and it was the most daunting endeavor of my life. I've poured thousands and thousands of hours into this epic poem and its paintings, and all of you have been so supportive and encouraging about it since the beginning.

Creating an entire world of my own was not easy. It was the biggest risk I've ever taken. An epic poem that rhymes in dactylic hexameter is very rare these days. The concept was so original, that traditional publishers had no idea how to market it. But when Brian and Wendy Froud started reading it, fantasy film celebrities, my colleagues at the University of New Haven, and fans from all over the country, they fell in love with the heroic verse. They praised the perfect marriage of image and word. And when one of them said it was "not just a book, but a work of art," I reached out to the ArtOrder's Jon Schindehette, who told me he was honored to publish the project.

Thank you, Jon Schindehette, founder of ArtOrder LLC, for publishing Astromythos and adding it to the beautiful array of published ArtOrder books. You are a pleasure to work with.

Thank you, Gregory Mursko, for developing a gorgeous layout for my books.

Thank you, Sara Zunda, for designing my enamel pin, website, and monograms for the book.

Thank you, Carolyn Anderson, for helping me with maps, mailing lists, and so much more.

Thank you to my family and friends, who always believed in my dream of publishing this book.

Thank you Sean Astin, Elijah Wood, and Graham McTavish for praising my book in your videos.

Thank you Ralph Horsley, for your brilliant video reading of a passage from the tenth myth.

Thank you to the ArtOrder team for working so hard in spite of the pandemic's setbacks.

Thank you to Catherine Gyllerstrom for auctioning my "Tavraltis" painting for charity.

Thank you to Chris Kotsakis and Shaun Stipick for capturing two streaming sessions, where you interviewed me and threw a launch party with free giveaways for my friends and fans.

Thank you, Brian and Wendy Froud, for writing my foreward and for being so gracious and kind.

Thank you, J.M. Lee, David Thorn Wenzel, Scott Murphy, Darko Stojanovic, and Gary Lippincott, for writing quotes for the back of my book.

And thank you to all of my Facebook and Instagram friends who shared my posts and helped me promote the campaign. I could not have done it without you."

With love,

Jon Sideriadis
